Soter FAQs

What is Soter?

Soter is a visitor spam-filter for the doorstep, built for older adults and people with disabilities, and for the people and institutions that provide care and support.

Unlike video doorbells that depend on the occupant, Soter autonomously manages visitors with accessibility-first design for older adults and disabled people, and for anyone who cannot or does not want to open their door.

Think of it as a concierge at your door that decides whether a visitor should be let in, leave a message, or be sent away.

How is Soter different to existing systems?

Accessibility-first by design, built from the ground up for mobility, sensory, and cognitive impairments.

Autonomous security that filters scams, verifies visitors, and completes routine visits with zero occupant involvement.

Caregiver integration with real-time logs, alerts, and after-hours access.

Institutional fit for aged care and independent living units, including entry records and alarm triage.

A scalable ecosystem with APIs for smart locks, care-tech dashboards, and health systems.

Who are our customers?

Retirement villages, independent living unit operators, older adults and disabled people living at home, carers and family members, care service providers, aged-care and disability equipment resellers, and care-tech platforms.

How is Soter installed?

Soter consists of hardware mounted at the front door of the residence. It requires a low voltage power connection. Battery powered wireless sensors can also help Soter better recognise occupant activity.

Soter needs to connect to the internet via the property's Wi-Fi or via a cellular service. There is also a monthly or annual subscription.

Soter communicates with the occupant and caregivers primarily via mobile phone, although some integrations are available for smart speakers.

How much does Soter cost?

Soter's price is not certain, but we are aiming for a hardware cost of about $300 USD and a monthly subscription of around $20 USD. We will update these prices as they firm up.
